Wetlab & Seminar: The equine foot – from diagnosis to treatment

November 27, 2020 @ 8:45 am - 5:15 pm CET

Equine Lameness and Poor Performance-Problems Of The Forelimb And Neck

With a growing interest among equine practitioners, Eickemeyer invites you to a one-day course on advances in diagnosis and treatment of equine foot lameness. Through a combination of theoretical and practical sessions, we will give a comprehensive overview of how objective lameness evaluation can aid in the diagnosis of lameness. Assisting the veterinary surgeon throughout the traditional subjective lameness examination (straight line, flexion tests, lunging, ridden, effectiveness of diagnostic blocks and treatment over time), objective lameness evaluation becomes invaluable in cases of poor performance, subtle and multiple limb lameness.

Our speakers are Equinosis Certified Practitioners with extensive experience in objective lameness evaluation in Equine practice.

  • Maarten Oosterlinck, DVM, PhD, Dipl. ECVSMR, Dipl. ECVS. European veterinary specialist in Equine sports medicine and rehabilitation. Ghent University, Belgium.
  • Christina Frigast, MRCVS, Certified Equine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CERP), Independent consultant, United Kingdom.

Welcoming all equine veterinary surgeons with a key interest in lameness in sports horses and racehorses and who perform lameness evaluations on a regular basis whether this be in an ambulatory practice or in hospital settings.
