Kelly Sampson, DVM

Dr. Kelly Sampson, originally from Minnesota, received her veterinary training at the Royal Veterinary College in London, England and Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine where she finished her veterinary education and graduated in 2005. Dr. Sampson’s focus in veterinary school was equine medicine, and during that time she also gained experience while working at Canterbury Park Race Track in Shakopee, MN.

Following graduation from Iowa State, Dr. Sampson worked for 2 years as an associate veterinarian at an equine-exclusive veterinary practice in Central Pennsylvania as one of the clinic’s three full-time veterinarians. Her duties there included reproductive services, lameness exams, field surgery, primary care, preventative programs, and emergency services.

After moving back to the Midwest in 2007 and starting a family, Dr. Sampson spent 4 years working in a companion animal practice while continuing to dabble in equine medicine on the side. In November of 2011, recognizing the demand for equine veterinary services in this area she decided to return to her original passion of equine medicine full-time and established Sampson Equine Service.

Dr. Sampson is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, Iowa Veterinary Medical Association and American Veterinary Medical Association.
